On June 2, this year, Huawei launched the new mobile operating system HarmonyOS 2 (2 HarmonyOS). After the announcement, the company started rolling it out for testing on Huawei devices in China and also announced a master plan to roll it out on more than 100 devices. So far, the update is available on more than 100 million Huawei and Honor devices in China, and it looks like they're currently rolling out more.

Harmony OS 2 is a new Linux kernel-based operating system designed and developed by Huawei and later announced as an open source system that provides a simple one-step solution to control all your connected devices.

Also, it features an easy-to-use user interface in terms of app shortcuts, new control panel, notification center, gestures, better app management, and many other important features.

Currently, Huawei has rolled out the HarmonyOS 2 update for a number of Huawei and Honor devices, and these flagship models include the Huawei Mate 40, P40, Mate 30, MatePad Pro, and others.

They were later joined by more phones such as Huawei P30, Mate 20, P20, and Mate 10 to participate in the beta test. Apart from the Mate 10 and P20, other devices started receiving the stable HarmonyOS 2 in China.

Huawei is expected to start rolling out Harmony OS to Huawei global devices by December 2021. However, the launch schedule may be clearer with the launch of the Huawei P50 series on July 29 but that has not been confirmed either.

Huawei has completed rolling out the stable version of HarmonyOS 2 for Huawei P40, Mate 40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro in China. On the other hand, the company is making every effort to finish testing for other devices.

In general, the entry into the public beta phase of the operating system HarmonyOS shows that the device has basically completed the adaptation of HarmonyOS for these models. Although there may still be some minor errors, it may not affect daily use.

According to some user reviews, after the update to HarmonyOS, older phones will get many improvements. In addition, this update will also greatly improve the performance of phones, becoming like a new mobile phone.
